All of us have been burned once or twice!

But this isn't about being burned. It's about what we do after we shake off the flames. Do we just sit there and whine? Or do we get up, dress our wounds and move on?

I apologize to the whiners because I really don't have much to tell them. But to those who have had the courage to stand up and get back into the fight - let's walk, talk, and share together!

Consistency 2

I’ve been really taking a close look at some of the other blogs that I enjoy reading. Since I’ve been attempting to improve my own skills I’ve started to take a closer look at some of the finer points such as the blogger’s posting frequency, category setup, and strength of the post. I have come to the conclusion that I may have been a bit hard on myself.

The purpose of this blog is to help myself build up some true blogging skills. The development of these skills are important so that I am better able to maintain the “true blog” when the time is right. In essence, this is basically a practice run. I’m out to develop a content mechanism that can deliver a consistently high level of useful content. Obviously, I am still working on the consistency part.

At this point, we won’t even discuss my fear of exposure to the world wide web. To simply say that I have a fear of exposure would be the understatement of the century. But I know that in order to get where I want to be – blogging is a necessary evil. For this reason – and this reason alone – I’m kicking all of my fears to the curb. Criticize me, cuss at me, degrade me if you like – but I’m not going anywhere! I’ve drawn the line in the sand! I’ll only get better.

Hmmm, I guess that along with the aspect of consistency, I’ve also been working through my fear of exposure. I learn something new every day.

My next area of improvement will be learning how to plan out the ideas and layout of a blog. I’ve got to decide what I want to say, how I’m going to say it, and who I’m going to be talking to/with. A blog cannot be without direction.

Let’s decide where we want to drive this thing and how we’re going to get there…
