I’ve been really taking a close look at some of the other blogs that I enjoy reading. Since I’ve been attempting to improve my own skills I’ve started to take a closer look at some of the finer points such as the blogger’s posting frequency, category setup, and strength of the post. I have come to the conclusion that I may have been a bit hard on myself.

The purpose of this blog is to help myself build up some true blogging skills. The development of these skills are important so that I am better able to maintain the “true blog” when the time is right. In essence, this is basically a practice run. I’m out to develop a content mechanism that can deliver a consistently high level of useful content. Obviously, I am still working on the consistency part.

At this point, we won’t even discuss my fear of exposure to the world wide web. To simply say that I have a fear of exposure would be the understatement of the century. But I know that in order to get where I want to be – blogging is a necessary evil. For this reason – and this reason alone – I’m kicking all of my fears to the curb. Criticize me, cuss at me, degrade me if you like – but I’m not going anywhere! I’ve drawn the line in the sand! I’ll only get better.

Hmmm, I guess that along with the aspect of consistency, I’ve also been working through my fear of exposure. I learn something new every day.

My next area of improvement will be learning how to plan out the ideas and layout of a blog. I’ve got to decide what I want to say, how I’m going to say it, and who I’m going to be talking to/with. A blog cannot be without direction.

Let’s decide where we want to drive this thing and how we’re going to get there…

I do believe that it’s about time to let the s&%t hit the fan. The 30 Day Challenge started yesterday and I’m going to not only go through the challenge, but I’m am also going to implement an experiment!

I have been heavily influenced by some pretty dynamic people. What I’m going to do is to try to implement one thing from each of them into my daily marketing activities to see if their success can be repeated. Now I know that some people will say that I cannot simply pick and choose aspects from their lives, mix them into some sort of potpourri and realistically expect to achieve an sort of measurable success.

To those who would say such a thing I must admit that I would have to agree – but that’s not what I’m doing at all. What I’m going to do is to try to APPLY their CORE principles to my marketing efforts to see if they work for me. Now if I fail, I won’t be able to say that their ideas don’t work, but then again, what is failure? Failure is simply staying down when the situation requires me to get up “one more time.” This being the case, there won’t be any failures, because I NEVER STAY DOWN!

Let’s get to work.
