All of us have been burned once or twice!

But this isn't about being burned. It's about what we do after we shake off the flames. Do we just sit there and whine? Or do we get up, dress our wounds and move on?

I apologize to the whiners because I really don't have much to tell them. But to those who have had the courage to stand up and get back into the fight - let's walk, talk, and share together!

Consistency 2

I’ve been really taking a close look at some of the other blogs that I enjoy reading. Since I’ve been attempting to improve my own skills I’ve started to take a closer look at some of the finer points such as the blogger’s posting frequency, category setup, and strength of the post. I have come to the conclusion that I may have been a bit hard on myself.

The purpose of this blog is to help myself build up some true blogging skills. The development of these skills are important so that I am better able to maintain the “true blog” when the time is right. In essence, this is basically a practice run. I’m out to develop a content mechanism that can deliver a consistently high level of useful content. Obviously, I am still working on the consistency part.

At this point, we won’t even discuss my fear of exposure to the world wide web. To simply say that I have a fear of exposure would be the understatement of the century. But I know that in order to get where I want to be – blogging is a necessary evil. For this reason – and this reason alone – I’m kicking all of my fears to the curb. Criticize me, cuss at me, degrade me if you like – but I’m not going anywhere! I’ve drawn the line in the sand! I’ll only get better.

Hmmm, I guess that along with the aspect of consistency, I’ve also been working through my fear of exposure. I learn something new every day.

My next area of improvement will be learning how to plan out the ideas and layout of a blog. I’ve got to decide what I want to say, how I’m going to say it, and who I’m going to be talking to/with. A blog cannot be without direction.

Let’s decide where we want to drive this thing and how we’re going to get there…

Consistency

Man oh man! Didn’t I mention in the last post about the implementation of the Sherman Middledalemicrotanner principals? And then right after that I don’t post for 10 days! It is the principal of consistency which I was referring to in that last post.

You see, the rather bizarre name of this project of mine is made up of a potpourri of some of the most consistent people that I know. You may know some (or all) of them. If you don’t, you’d better get out there and find out what you can about any of them. If you’d like to know one of the most important principals that is a surefire way out of the fire – then consistency is the one you had better start off with.

If you are going to blog, or market over the internet, or even be a good spouse or friend, than the one thing that must be evident in your endeavor is consistency. You may not start out with the most powerful blog posts, or even have all of the right things to say as a friend, but if your are consistently banging away at it everyday, than sooner or later you’re going to break through. Of course there are other elements involved, but your not going to get anywhere in life or do anything special – if consistency is not a primary component of your strategy!

Like me, I might not ever be a world class blogger, or even have a whole lot of ’super intelligent’ things to say. But what I do have is burning desire to succeed in internet marketing – and I know from watching Sherman,Caroline, Ed, Micronet, and Susanne, that blogging is an essential part of the strategy. So – although I’m not that good – I DO know that I will get better!

So now that we’ve dusted ourselves off – AGAIN – let’s get back out there and apply some of those Sherman Middledalemicrotanner principals. The knowledge is nothing without application!

The Sherman Middledalemicrotanner Project

I do believe that it’s about time to let the s&%t hit the fan. The 30 Day Challenge started yesterday and I’m going to not only go through the challenge, but I’m am also going to implement an experiment!

I have been heavily influenced by some pretty dynamic people. What I’m going to do is to try to implement one thing from each of them into my daily marketing activities to see if their success can be repeated. Now I know that some people will say that I cannot simply pick and choose aspects from their lives, mix them into some sort of potpourri and realistically expect to achieve an sort of measurable success.

To those who would say such a thing I must admit that I would have to agree – but that’s not what I’m doing at all. What I’m going to do is to try to APPLY their CORE principles to my marketing efforts to see if they work for me. Now if I fail, I won’t be able to say that their ideas don’t work, but then again, what is failure? Failure is simply staying down when the situation requires me to get up “one more time.” This being the case, there won’t be any failures, because I NEVER STAY DOWN!

Let’s get to work.
